Tourism Toronto begins newspaper campaign

Tourism Toronto broke a newspaper advertising campaign yesterday to promote the end of the six-week strike by garbage collectors in that city. The first ad, which uses the headline, "Toronto Never Smelled So Good," is running in the Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen, Kingston Whig and London Free Press. Two more executions will follow, encouraging consumers to take a trip to Toronto in August. These ads will focus on the late arrival of Labour Day this year. They will use the headlines, "Summer coming this Fall to a city near you" and "What are you doing this August 35th?" The campaign was developed by Leo Burnett.
