Sponsorship roundup

Sports clothing maker Adidas Canada has signed-on as a sponsor of the Red Ball campaign for a second year. The annual campaign is conducted by humanitarian organization Right to Play, which develops sport and play programs aimed at children in disadvantaged areas of the world. During the campaign, customers at participating Adidas Sport Performance stores and factory outlets will be able to purchase a small red ball for $10. The proceeds will go to support Right to Play's programs. "Our programs use sport and play to improve health, build life skills and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease," said Johann Olav Koss, president and CEO of the organization. "Sport for development is still a relatively new area in terms of global recognition, but with Adidas on board we have already in 2007 encouraged so many people around the world to join this important movement."
