Knot Group launches event planning division

Toronto-based Knot PR has rebranded itself as The Knot Group. The new name reflects the addition of a new partner in the firm, Hilary Bonebakker. She will head the agency's new event planning and management division. Bonebakker was most recently manager of corporate partnerships at Right To Play. She was also arts and cultural account manager at New York-based Mirrorball, as well as associate manager of special events at the Guggenheim Museum.

The new division, called TKG Events, will offer services including venue management, decor design, concept design, sound and lighting design, guest management and vendor management.

"Over the last five years we have worked extremely hard to cement our reputation as one of Toronto's top boutique agencies, said Knot Group co-founder Tatiana Read. "Consistently impressing our stakeholders and keeping our ear to the ground to seize on opportunities has been the crux of our growth strategy. We view our expansion into the event planning and management sector as a strategic move for our agency. Events are an increasingly critical element of brand experience and engagement."

The agency's clients include The Canadian Opera Company, the Luminato Festival, The Canadian Art Foundation, Arts Brookfield, The Canadian Journalism Foundation, the Field Trip Music & Arts Festival and the Toronto Fashion Week Awards.
