Pepsi-QTG begins Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest

Pepsi-QTG Canada has begun a contest promotion called “Bring Home the Stanley Cup” in association with the CBC, the NHL and the National Hockey Players’ Association. The winner will receive a Samsung home theatre system, two Hockey Night in Canada-branded leather chairs, an Xbox 360 video game console and a supply of Pepsi, Lay’s and Gatorade products. In addition, the winner and 20 friends will attend an Ultimate Playoff Party, footage of which will air on the CBC during a 2007 playoff game broadcast. Finally, the Stanley Cup will be delivered to the winner’s home by hockey player Mark Messier. Consumers can enter the contest by submitting a photo or video online that shows how they watch the NHL Playoffs and describing what having the Stanley Cup delivered to their home would mean to them. A panel of judges will select three finalists. Online voting by members of the public will determine the winner. The contest website is located at <http://www.cbc.ca/bringhomethecup>. The advertising promoting the contest, developed by in-house by the CBC, features Messier bringing the Stanley Cup to a person’s home. Television advertising will run nationally on CBC during Stanley Cup playoff games. Additional promotional support includes special-edition Pepsi, Lay’s and Gatorade packaging.
