Pepsi resumes Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest

PepsiCo Canada has resumed a contest promotion called "Bring Home the Stanley Cup" in association with the CBC, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association. The contest involves the brands Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade. To enter the contest, consumers must submit a video demonstrating their NHL playoff viewing rituals at <http://www.cbcsports.ca/bringhomethecup>. A judging panel will select three finalists. The winner will be determined by online voting. The contest will run until May 9. The grand prize winner will receive a hockey playoff party for 20 which will be attended by hockey player Mark Messier and the Stanley Cup trophy. In addition, video clips of the party will be broadcast on the CBC during playoff games. "Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade are proud to be long-standing supporters of our national game, both on and off the ice," said Dale Hooper, vice-president of marketing at Pepsi-QTG Canada. "Therefore, finding exciting ways to let Canadian hockey fans experience the greatest thrill of the game is what our brands are all about." Advertising supporting the contest has been developed by CBC. The ads depict a variety of hockey fan rituals and feature Messier. The television ads will run nationally during playoff broadcasts. Six videos featuring Messier will also run during games. Other support includes special packaging on Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade products.
