Passage: Charles Tisdall

Charles Tisdall passed away on March 24 at the age of 88. Tisdall co-founded Tisdall Clark and Partners in 1952. The agency merged with Continental Public Relations, now part of Weber Shandwick, in 1985. He was national president of the Canadian Public Relations Society from 1963 to 1964 and founded the Communications and Public Relations Foundation in 1979. “Charles Tisdall was a trailblazer and a pioneer for his contribution to the establishment of national standards for public relations education, ethics and practice,” said Barbara Sheffield, chair of the foundation. “He believed in giving back to the community and in the value of sharing knowledge with others. We have all benefited from his leadership.”
