BLACK'S TAKES ADVERTISING OUTSIDE

Black Photo Corp. of Markham, Ont. has decided to farm out its ad business. The company has hired Bensimon*Byrne of Toronto for the creative portion of the account, and Optimedia of Toronto is to do media buying. Strategic Objectives of Toronto does public relations. The last agency the company used was Padulo Integrated, but the retail photography chain has been handling its advertising in-house for some time. According to A.C. Nielsen of Markham, Ont., Black's spent just over $1.4 million on advertising in 1995. There are 186 Black's photo finishing and accessories shops in Canada.
