SICK KIDS HOSPITAL RUNS FIRST LOTTERY

The Hospital For Sick Children Foundation will use a lottery for the first time to raise money for hospital research. Called The Wishing Well Lottery, it begins tomorrow and has $2.65 million in prizes, with the grand prize being $1 million. There are 36 prizes of $10,000 and 1,015 of $1,000. As well, ticket purchasers have a chance to win one of 10 cars. Radio, print, and TV ads, as well as brochures promote the lottery. The campaign was created by Guerrilla TV of Toronto. The grand and $1,000 prizes will be drawn June 1, during the Hospital for Sick Children telethon. The $10,000 prizes, and the cars will be drawn throughout April and May. Sponsors of the lottery include BBS/CFTO-TV, radio stations CFRB AM 1010 and Mix 99.9, The Toronto Sun,, The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and The Canadian International Autoshow. Tickets can be ordered at a 1-800 number, a Toronto phone number and in the hospital lobby. Ticket order forms are available at Shell gas stations and CIBC branches.
