TSN GETS IN ON COLA WAR
By Adnews Staff
The Sports Network blacked out a popular camera angle last week at Blue Jays baseball games to keep one of its sponsors happy. TSN's broadcasts are partly sponsored by Pepsi-Cola, and rival Coca-Cola advertises at the SkyDome stadium in Toronto right behind home plate. TSN didn't use the centre-field camera angle, which shows the pitcher and batter in the same frame, in order to keep Coke off the air. The Jays and TSN will be working to try to resolve the issue. The sign behind home plate is designed to rotate every couple of minutes to display a new advertiser, but so far, Coke is the only sponsor.
