New chief digital strategist at National

National Public Relations has promoted Rick Murray to the position of chief digital strategist and managing partner of its Toronto office. When he begins work on Dec. 3, he will work to increase the office's volume of business and to expand its services. As chief digital strategist, he will develop social and digital strategy for the agency as a whole. he will also be responsible for National's digital subsidiary, Sonic Boom.

Murray has been at Edelman since 2001, most recently as president of the agency's midwest region. He was also manager of the firm's Chicago office and president of Edelman Digital. Prior to Edelman, he was executive vice-president and general manager of Golin Harris. He has also been vice-president of marketing in Canada for Pepsi-Cola International.

National is a subsidiary of Res Publica.
