Tim Hortons readies video game promotion

Tim Hortons will begin a promotion in support of its annual Camp Day fundraising initiative on July 13. On that day, three video game livestreamers, FaZe Replays, FaZe Proze and Thiefs, will light campfires in a video game as they stream on Twitch. The streamers will then attempt to defend the fires from other players. In the process, they will raise funds for Tim Hortons Foundation Camps in the form of Twitch Bits, the streaming service’s in-house currency. The streamers will also match these donations. This will be the first time Tim Hortons has conducted a video game-based promotion.

The promotion was developed by GUT of Toronto, with media work by Media Monks and public relations by Craft Public Relations in English Canada, DDMG Communications in French Canada and ABMC in the United States.

“Campfires are a place for healing, and a place to gain strength,” said FaZe Replays, “That’s what Tims Camps offer to Canadian youth through their amazing leadership development program that empowers young people. I’m incredibly proud to be involved in this year’s campaign.”
