Tim Hortons launches video game promotion

Tim Hortons recently conducted an online promotion to coincide with National Coffee Day. The effort took the form of a video game available through online game service Roblox. The game, called Tims Speed Run, consisted of obstacle course through which players could run while carrying a tray of Tim Hortons products. This is the first time the company has conducted a video game-based promotion. It was developed in collaboration with Roblox and Media Monks and will be playable for one month.

In related news, the company has released a limited-edition collection of branded merchandise called the “Tims Run Club,” consisting of a hat, socks, slides, a long-sleeved shirt and two windbreakers.

“Our exclusive Tims Run Club merch has clever little features like the insulated pocket on our premium windbreaker to keep your breakfast sandwich warm,” says Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer at Tim Hortons. “There's also elbow padding on the left arm for maximum comfort when resting your arm out the car window while going through the drive-thru. We've also double layered the left sleeve of the premium windbreaker for extra weather protection on our cooler Canadian mornings and nights going through the drive-through.”
