Kahlua conducts Grey Cafe promotion
By Adnews Staff
Corby Spirit and Wine recently conducted a promotion in Toronto for its Kahlúa liqueur brand. Developed by The Mint Agency, the holiday-themed campaign consisted of a temporary installation called the “Grey Café.” The installation took of the form of deliberately non-descript coffee shop with a sign outside offering free coffee and a menu consisting of only one item: Stirred Up Coffee. When a consumer was served their coffee, one of three musical acts would suddenly begin: a mariachi band, an opera singer or a guitarist. Other surprises included confetti cannons, light shows and dancers. The cafe operated for three days late last month.
The cafe was supported by public relations focusing on digital and print media, as well as influencer activities. Participating influencers received a Kahlúa Revival Kit for a custom-made coffee cocktail called the Kahlúa Canadian Highball. Other elements included a sponsored digital campaign with The Kit and TheStar.com.
