Canadian Olympic Committee retains Cossette

The Canadian Olympic Committee has hired Cossette as its new creative agency of record. The agency will lead the organization's marketing communications up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. The assignment will include strategy, creative and production, as well as supporting work for the Canadian Olympic Committee Foundation.

"Nothing rallies this nation together like the power of sport and the stories of our amazing athletes," said Derek Kent, chief marketing officer at the Canadian Olympic Committee. "It's a perfect fit for our team. With their creative horsepower, we're confident the Cossette team will ignite the Olympic spirit in our country with breakthrough campaigns that will connect our fans, athletes and partners."

The account was previously held by Proximity, which developed campaigns for two Olympic Games over three years. According to the committee, the decision to move the account was "mutually agreed." The Canadian Olympic Committee will continue to employ the services of media agency OMD, digital agency Zync and public relations firm North Strategic.
