Rdio sponsors Toronto International Film Festival

San Francisco-based streaming music service Rdio has become the official music sponsor of the Toronto International Film Festival. As part of its sponsorship, Rdio will conduct a free concert and an "interactive music experience" during the 11-day festival. Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding will perform at Massey Hall on Sept. 6. Tickets to the concert will be available through social media contests and at a location called Rdio House, where the company will maintain a lounge area for festival attendees. This will also be the site of an interactive listening station, where consumers can listen to music from the service. The TIFF.net website will also host an Rdio music player. Rdio will host several other free concerts during the festival, by musicians including Badbadnotgood, Adrian X, Jason Collett, Bobby Bazini and others.

"Rdio is teaming up with the Toronto International Film Festival to provide an unforgettable listening experience that amplifies all the exciting activities on Festival Street," said Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio. "Canada is our second largest market and we continue to invest in creating powerful connections to music here. We're thrilled to be part of the festival, one of the country's most important cultural organizations."
