Videotron debuts Unlimited Music service

Montreal-based Videotron has introduced a new service called Unlimited Music. The service will allow the company's mobile customers to listen to music from a variety of online streaming services without using their data plan. Participating streaming music services include Stingray, Rdio, Google Play, Deezer and Spotify, with additional services to be added in the future. Unlimited Music will be offered for free to Videotron customers who subscribe to an eligible data plan. In addition, Stingray will add a number of exclusive channels for Videotron users to its mobile application.
"Music streaming is growing quickly around the world," said Myrianne Collin, senior vice-president of strategy and marketing of Videotron. "The numbers tell the story. More and more consumers are making their mobile device the nerve centre of their entertainment system and their constant electronic companion. We want to get ahead of our customers' needs once again by bringing them a unique, innovative service. Unlimited Music will help make the connection between fans of music from Quebec and around the world and the major music streaming players."
Videotron is a subsidiary of Quebecor Media.
