Nissan, CFL begin high school football program

Nissan Canada has begun a program called "Back in the Game" in association with the Canadian Football League. The initiative will provide support to 21 high school football programs in markets with CFL teams. The teams will receive funding, equipment, playing field improvements, training materials and other forms of support. The CFL will contribute special guest appearances, CFL merchandise and communications support. Several of the participating teams will appear in a series of online videos, culminating in a 30-minute documentary to be released at the end of the program. The videos will depicts the teams' experiences during the 2014 football season. Nissan has been a sponsor of the CFL for seven years.

"Nissan is a proud sponsor of football in Canada and extremely driven to improve the communities that we operate in," said Christian Meunier, president of Nissan Canada. "With this national platform, we can not only showcase the passion and importance of local youth football within our Canadian communities, but also give young Canadians a chance to learn and grow through the power of sport."
