CFL debuts new mobile app

The Canadian Football League has released an official mobile application. Available for Android and Apple devices, the app is the second phase of an ongoing revamp of the league’s digital presence that began with a redesign of its website. The app offers real-time scores, news, highlights, statistics, fantasy league features and other content in English and French.
The launch is being promoted with a contest called “App to End Zone” that will run until Oct. 24. Users can enter by playing an in-app minigame and submitting a screenshot online. A randomly-selected winner will receive a trip for two to the 113th Grey Cup championship game.
“The importance of modernized technology cannot be overstated in today’s sporting landscape,” said CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston. “As expectations evolve and fandom deepens, it’s essential that we deliver a mobile-first experience that meets people where they are. The new CFL app puts the league, our teams and our players at fans’ fingertips, making it easier than ever to discover, follow and engage with Canadian football.”
