Tourism Calgary has begun a national and regional marketing campaign intended to inform consumers that the city is open for travel in the wake of recent flooding. The campaign, which is running in advance of the annual Calgary Stampede, focuses on the availability of the Calgary's attractions, restaurants, hotels and festivals. The effort, which is being conducted in association with Travel Alberta and the Calgary Hotel Association, consists of radio, newspaper and online advertising. The creative features Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and uses the tagline, "Calgary's Doors are Open." The advertising will be supported with social media activities and public relations. "Our community was pushed down, and we are pulling her back up," said Nenshi. "You'll want to see what this community has accomplished. You'll get a chance to experience the energy of these streets, our great festivals, events and experiences. Summer is the time you want to be here. Come and visit Calgary. Our doors are open."
