Sponsorship roundup

Mobile device maker BlackBerry (formerly Research in Motion) has renewed its sponsorship of the National Hockey League. BlackBerry will continue to sponsor media properties including the NHL Network and NHL.com, as well as league broadcasts. BlackBerry will also be the presenting sponsor of a trade deadline show that will air on NHL Network US. This show will feature product placement of the recently release BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system. BlackBerry also will sponsor editorial content for the trade deadline on NHL.com. In addition, the league has released a version of its NHL GameCenter application for BlackBerry 10. "Hockey fans have to have the latest updates on their teams and players, whether they are at home or on the road, and NHL GameCenter does just that," said Martyn Mallick, vice-president of global alliances and business development at BlackBerry. "NHL GameCenter brings a true BlackBerry 10 experience to fans keeping them updated and never missing a moment."
