Blyk Media Partners moves to Toronto

Blyk Canada of Toronto has purchased the assets of its parent company, Blyk International. The mobile marketing firm will move its headquarters to Toronto and operate under the name Blyk Media Partners. The company's services include mobile content marketing and mobile advertising. According to the Blyk, its focus will remain on its media sales partnership with Blackberry and its BBM Advertising Solutions division. Blyk was founded in Finland in 2007 and originally offered an advertising-supported mobile phone service.

"BBM offers advertisers a unique opportunity to engage with consumers," said Blyk president and CEO Kevin Astle. "In 2014 Blackberry opened up free access to BBM for millions of IOS, Android and Windows users worldwide. It now provides messaging services to over 105 million users globally and can boast engagement rates 10 to 30 times greater than existing media options like Facebook or Twitter. Already we have seen major Canadian advertisers like TD Bank, Match.com and SunWing embrace BBM as part of their desire to more effectively target mobile consumers."
