SONY INTRODUCES MINI-PHONE IN CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Japan-based Sony Corp. brought its newest cellular phone to Canada last week. Called the CM-RX 100, the phone is three and a half by two and a half inches in size. Advertising will begin "shortly" when the product is in full distribution, spokesperson John McCarter told Adnews last week. It will be created by BBDO Canada of Toronto. Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto will do PR. Cohn & Wolfe was given the PR assignment last month. It won the project without a review when the agency approached Sony with a pitch. Sony's consumer electronics division hires PR agencies on a project basis. It also handles some PR in-house. The phone has been available in the U.S. since early spring.
