URBAN OUTDOOR ACQUIRES CIESLOK OUTDOOR

Toronto-based Urban Outdoor Trans Ad announced last week that it has signed an agreement in principle to purchase Cieslock Outdoor Ltd., also of Toronto. Urban Outdoor Trans Ad president Ron Hutchinson told Adnews last week that the deal is still subject to legal documentation, but that he expects it to be official by the end of the month. The agreement will give Urban Outdoor about 70 more billboards, all located in downtown Toronto. They will be added to the approximately 250 Urban Outdoor already has throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Urban Outdoor also has 60,000 transit signs around Toronto, as well as 600 billboards nationwide, Hutchinson said. Urban Outdoor Trans Ad is a division of Slaight Communications Inc. and an affiliate of Standard Broadcasting of Toronto.
