MGI LAUNCHES PHOTO SOFTWARE
By Adnews Staff
MGI Software of Richmond Hill, Ont. introduced two software programs last week to the North American market that let PC users manipulate photographs on their computers. The programs are called PC PhotoStarter Kit and PhotoSuite 8.0. PhotoStarter lets the user place, edit and manage photos on their PC. They can make personalized sports cards, magazine covers, photo calendars, photo greeting cards, photo albums, slide shows and business presentations. Special effects include oil paint, emboss, cartoon, coloring book and mosaic. The photos can also be posted on the Internet. PhotoSuite has more powerful features. For example, users can create more than one photo album at a time, while only one photo album can be created with PhotoStarter at any one time. PhotoSuite also has 30 special effects, a photo lens kit, image capture capabilities, a multimedia slide show, and an Internet helper. It can be used with other Windows applications and comes with a stock library of hundreds of photos, sound effects and animation clips. North American print and Internet advertising support the launch of the products. It was created in-house with the help of Group Multimedia of Toronto.
