Clorox Canada begins Glad promotion

Clorox Canada has begun a promotion for its Glad line of garbage bags in association with The Score. The promotion involves a series of 60-second television segments featuring well-known instances of "trash talking" by sports personalities. In conjunction with this series, Clorox is conducting an online contest at Glad.ca. Visitors to the site and enter weekly draws for $500 gift cards from a retailer of their choice. Visitors can also enter a draw for an "Ultimate Toronto Hockey Experience" consisting of a trip for four to Toronto for dinner with hockey player Wendel Clark. The contest, which will run until Oct. 25, was developed by Hunter Straker. The overall promotion will run until Nov. 23. "Glad is synonymous in this country with trash," said Imran Ilahi, marketing manager at Glad Canada. "We wanted to create something that had the right balance between fun, engagement and a reason to go online. This partnership with The Score was a perfect fit in terms of their core audience, and our consumer target."
