Sponsorship roundup

Virgin America has signed a sponsorship agreement to become the official airline of the Toronto International Film Festival, which will takes place from Sept. 9 to 19. The airline will use the sponsorship to promote its recently-launched direct flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Toronto. The sponsorship includes a contest which consumers can enter at VirginAmerica.com or the brand's Facebook page by submitting a line they would use to try to talk their way into the festival. Three winners from California will receive trips for two to Toronto including accommodation, dinner and festival tickets. Toronto winners will receive a flight to any destination serviced by the airline. "We're delighted to partner with Virgin America for this year's festival," said Piers Handling, director and CEO of the festival. "We're pleased to have them serve Toronto as our newest airline and to partner with them to help bring in some of the thousands of visitors who will arrive for this year's festival."
