Clorox conducts Glad for Change promotion

The Clorox Company has begun a promotion for its Glad line of garbage bags called “Glad for Change.” The intent is to “inspire Canadians to clean their communities” by picking up litter in their neighbourhoods. Consumers can perticipate by downloading a mobile application called One Piece a Day or visiting <http://www.onepieceaday.ca> to track their personal contribution to the national event. Consumers can also use social media to submit a picture or post from a clean-up. To begin the promotion, Glad Canada has distributed free clean-up kits to 25,000 households. The kits includes black, blue and white GLAD bags to help with waste and recycling collection. The promotion will run until Aug. 31.

“‘Glad for Change’ is an opportunity for Canadians to think of the importance of these spaces and support overworked municipalities by playing an active role in cleaning them up,” said Melanie Plaz Casado, vice-president of marketing at Clorox Canada. “It can be hard to take time out from our day-to-day routines, but we're calling on Canadians to try to collect 50 pieces of litter in their community. It isn't much but will make a big difference.  With ‘Glad for Change,’ we're giving Canadians the tools to act and share their contributions.”
