Sponsorship roundup

Baltimore-based athletic clothing company Under Armour has formed a sponsorship agreement with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment of Toronto. The deal gives the company advertising rights in Air Canada Centre during Maple Leafs games through the 2009-2010 season. During that time, the company will be the official sponsor of athletic performance apparel for the hockey team. In addition, Under Armour clothing displaying the Maple Leafs logo will be sold in the arena store. Venue advertising will include rink boards and video boards, as well as signage outside the dressing rooms and ads in the printed program. "Our rapid growth in Canada and the opportunity to have our performance product available to Maple Leafs' fans on home ice make this a great deal for Under Armour," said Steve Battista, brand vice-president at Under Armour.
