Under Armour to sponsor Canadian Olympic Committee

Athletic apparel company Under Armour has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Canadian Olympic Committee. Under the terms of the agreement, Under Armour will be the official high performance footwear sponsor for Team Canada athletes for the next eight years. According to the company, this is the first time it has sponsored a national Olympic committee. Canadian competitors will wear the brand's footwear for the first time at the opening cerimonies of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games in China. As part of its sponsorship, Under Armour will sell a limited number of red winter boots and training shoes featuring Team Canada branding during the lead-up to the games.
"As Under Armour's first partnership with the Canadian Olympic Team, we are proud to support Team Canada's Olympic pursuit and provide state-of-the-art high performance footwear to the talented roster of athletes," said Courtney Carlson, vice-president of North America marketing at Under Armour.
