Rogers promotes home phone service in Newfoundland

Rogers began a campaign in Newfoundland over the weekend to introduce its home telephone service to that province. The campaign, which was developed by Toronto-based Fuse Marketing Group, broke on Sept. 1 in St. John's and Mont Pearl. The introductory event was a free concert by Great Big Sea and Joel Plaskett. An online contest awarded 50 winners backstage passes and CD collections. The contest and concert were promoted with posters, flyers, radio promotion and online materials. "Our goal was to raise awareness that the Rogers Home Phone is launching and to forge an experiential link with the St. John's and Mount Pearl communities," said Stephen Brown, senior vice-president and general manager of Fuse. "Our program demonstrates that Rogers understands the community and will build goodwill with both existing and potential customers by offering an experience that is relevant to them. We have also partnered with a local charity to dial up community involvement."
