Metro promotes redesign

Commuter newspaper Metro will debut an updated design today intended to make the publication easier to read and more contemporary. The modifications include the colour-coding of sections, new fonts, brighter colours, more photographs and more celebrity news. The new design will be used in all the English-language versions of Metro, including those in Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. The design debuted in the Montreal edition of the paper earlier this year. Metro is promoting the changes with print ads in its own pages and with radio commercials in Ottawa and Toronto.
