COCA-COLA TO TAKE OVER VANCOUVER PARKS

Coca-Cola is on the verge of having a lock on soft drink concessions at Vancouver parks and community centres. The company is about to sign a deal with the Vancouver parks department for the exclusive rights to sell and advertise soft drinks in parks and community centres, at a cost of $217,000 a year. The contract goes to the board for final approval on June 10. The deal is the first in a series of corporate sponsorships the city will use to raise money. The parks board is also considering agreements with film and coffee suppliers .
