Toronto-based Insight Sports has launched a new endeavour called Major League Gaming Canada which will seek to make video gaming a competitive professional sport in this country. The company has signed sponsorship agreements with Microsoft, Yahoo Canada, Zellers, The Score and G4techTV to support the league. Microsoft’s Xbox Canada division will supply the game consoles used in the competitions. Yahoo Canada will host league content, contests and promotions online. As the league’s retail sponsor, Zellers will participate in sales and promotional activities. The Score will be the official television broadcaster league content. Specialty channel G4techTV will also broadcast league content.
