The Montreal-based Just For Laughs comedy festival has signed Visa Canada as the sponsor of its film series Comedia. Visa has also been named the preferred credit card of the festival and will be the naming sponsor of the event’s two official box offices. In addition, Westjet will sponsor an outdoor area of the festival called Westjet Fair Arts. The airline will also distribute Just For Laughs Gags on its flights during the weeks preceding the event. Just For Laughs has also formed a three-year sponsorship agreement with XM Satellite Radio that will give the broadcaster visibility at the outdoor site and several other venues. The festival will also provide comedy content to XM in French and English through 2009. Other new festival sponsors this year include Danone Waters, research company Decima, retailer Dumolulin/Audiotronics, Foster’s Wines, Procter & Gamble and Charton Hobbs. Returning sponsors include Loto-Québec, Labatt, Bell Canada, Lipton, Tim Horton's, Home Depot, SAQ, Coca-Cola, Tourism Montreal, Tourism Quebec, Societé des Casinos and Shell. The 2006 Just For Laughs festival will take place from July 1 to July 31.
