New chief marketing officer at Kobo

Toronto-based e-reader company Kobo has appointed Colin Bettam to the position of chief marketing officer. He will work to build the Kobo brand internationally through marketing, advertising, public relations, events and sponsorships. He will also be responsible for corporate social responsibility programs. The company will expand into India, Russia and the Philippines this year. Bettam was most recently vice-president of marketing at LG Electronics. He has also held senior marketing positions at Coors Brewing, XM Satellite Radio and McCain Foods.
