New president, CEO at Toronto Star

The Toronto Star has appointed Marina Glogovac to the positions of chief executive officer and president, effective June 1. Since 2013, Glogovac has been president and CEO of fundraising technology firm CanadaHelps. Prior to that, she was group publisher at St. Joseph's Media, CEO and chief revenue officer at Lavalife, chief marketing officer at Kobo and vice-president of sales and marketing at Now Magazine. Outgoing interim CEO Lorenzo DeMarchi will return to his previous position of chief investment officer for the newspaper’s parent company, Torstar.

“We are very pleased that Marina Glogovac has agreed to serve as chief executive officer and president of the Toronto Star," said Paul Rivett co-owner of Torstar. “With Marina we have the very best leader at exactly the right time. Her news media leadership, tech background and digital subscription experience uniquely position her to lead our journey of reinvention at the Toronto Star.”
