Manchu Wok holds poker promotion

Toronto-based restaurant chain Manchu Wok is in the middle of an in-store promotion called “Wok & Win Poker.” The six-week initiative began on April 3. During the promotion, customers who purchase qualifying menu items will receive a scratch card intended to resemble a hand of poker. The grand prize is $100,000. Secondary prizes include food items, poker tables, poker chips and playing cards. Approximately 1,200,000 cards will be distributed during the initiative. “We are always looking for ways to connect with our customers and to make their visits to our stores fun,” said Julie Brennan, brand manager for Manchu Wok. “We are expecting an increase in sales of at least four per cent due to this promotion.” The contest is being promoted with in-store materials including backlit inserts, banners, ceiling danglers and t-shirts worn by restaurant staff. The concept was created by Traffik, while the creative was designed by Interface.
