Hootsuite buys Heyday

Vancouver-based social media managament company Hootsuite has acquired Heyday, an artificial intelligence technology firm based in Montreal. The purchase is valued at $60 million. According to the company, the acquisition will allow Hootsuite to provide more personalized customer interactions through conversational AI technology on social media services.
“Social is the new interface of commerce and customer care,” said Tom Keiser, CEO of Hootsuite. “Modern day brands have to manage a multitude of daily interactions and conversations at scale, which is impossible to do without AI automation.
