Toronto Festival of Arts, Culture and Creativity hires MacLaren McCann

The Toronto City Summit Alliance has retained MacLaren McCann of Toronto as the communications agency of a new event called the Toronto Festival of Arts, Culture and Creativity. The annual 16-day festival, which will premiere in June 2007, will feature opera, dance and theatre, along with performances of classical, jazz, popular, and electronic music. The event will also encompass sculpture, painting, drawing, and multi-media exhibitions, plus design work and fashion. MacLaren McCann won the account in an agency search involving an unknown number of additional firms. “The festival ultimately selected MacLaren McCann because the breadth of their offering, their international resources, and their commitment to the festival,” said David Pecaut, co-chair of the event. The agency will begin by developing the name and visual identity of the festival.  The assignment also includes advertising, the construction of an online presence, direct marketing, database development, media planning, media buying and sponsorships.
