NEW COMPANY LAUNCHING BUSINESS DIRECTORY

A new Edmonton company is competing head-to-head with Ed Tel in the city's business telephone directory market. FasTel will start distributing its directory in late July. It says that its advertising rates are up to 66% lower than those charged by Ed Tel for ads in its Yellow Pages. FasTel will produce 310,000 directories and distribute them to businesses and residents in Edmonton, and to businesses only in St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove and Leduc. Ed Tel publishes 575,000 copies of its Yellow Pages, and distributes them to all of its customers in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and St. Albert. Fastel has been operating since last August. It is a sister company of Creative Campaigns, an Edmonton advertising consulting firm.
