STENTOR RAISING MONEY FOR OLYMPICS

The Stentor group of telephone companies launched a national TV and print campaign last week to promote its Spirit of Canada Fund. Stentor says it will donate more than $400,000 to the Canadian Olympic Association. The TV spots, shot in black and white, juxtapose children against the scope of Olympic competition. The print ads ad show a child swinging on rings and carry the tagline, "With a little help, anything is possible." People are invited to call a toll-free number to make a donation or get more information. The ads were created by BBDO Canada in Toronto. The Stentor companies are introducing a commemorative Olympic HELLO! phone card within the next few weeks. They will donate a portion of the cards' sales to the COA. The money from the Spirit of Canada Fund will support initiatives such as the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Youth Olympic Program. Through the Stentor alliance, Bell Canada is a gold level sponsor of the Canadian Olympic Team for the 1996 summer games in Atlanta and the 1998 competition in Nagano, Japan.
