CANADIAN COMPANY HAS TOP BIKE MODEL
By Adnews Staff
Rocky Mountain Bicycles has something to brag about in its advertising. Its Hammer Race bike has been selected as the 1996 Bike of the Year by Mountain Biking magazine. The Delta, B.C. company will be launching a print campaign by May that will let North Americans know about the award. Point-of-sale materials went into stores last week. Advertising for Rocky Mountain is done in-house. Public relations are handled by Campbell & Company Strategies of Vancouver. This marks the first time a Canadian company has received the Bike of the Year award. Rocky Mountain was up against U.S. competitors such as Specialized, Fisher and Kona. The Canadian company makes 13 bike models including Fusion, Thin Air and Element. It sells its bikes in 15 countries.
