Blue Ant Media forms new unit

Blue Ant Media of Toronto has merged its Global Channels and Streaming unit with its rights unit to create a new division called Blue Ant Rights & Streaming. According to the company, the move is intended to allow for “a more strategic and coordinated approach to content distribution, windowing, partnership development and monetization” of its intellectual property. The new unit will be headed by Mark Bishop as chief monetization officer. Carlyn Staudt, former president of Global Channels & Streaming, will depart the company at the end of summer. In addition, Craig Junner has been promoted to the position of executive vice president and general manager of Global Channels & Streaming.

“As our content portfolio, customer relationships and distribution footprint have grown significantly, it became clear that a more unified approach to content monetization would enable us to better capitalize on opportunities across platforms and markets,” said Michael MacMillan, CEO of Blue Ant Media. “This structure gives us greater visibility across the content lifecycle, enabling us to better serve our partners, unlock greater value from our content across platforms and territories, and capitalize on opportunities in a rapidly evolving media landscape.”
