Ikea begins Window Displays campaign

Home furnishings retailer Ikea Canada has begun a promotion in support of the opening of its first store in downtown Toronto. According to the company, the new location is the first of its kind in Canada, being a smaller version of a regular Ikea store. The promotion, called “Window Displays,” depicts showroom displays of various Ikea room settings in real Toronto homes. Developed by Rethink, these “live action billboards” are located in a Queen St. West apartment, a Distillery District condominium, a semi-detached house in Roncesvalles and houses in Cedarvale and midtown Toronto.
“Today's opening represents an important milestone in our retail transformation to bring Ikea closer to where customers live, work, shop and socialize,” said IKEA Canada CEO Michael Ward. “It is a very exciting and proud day for all of us at Ikea Canada as we open our first ever small store in Canada, designed to meet the needs and dreams of urban Toronto residents.”
