Oxford Properties conducts Pass The Plate promotion

Real estate developer Oxford Properties Group has begun an initiative called “Pass The Plate 2020” to raise funds for Food Banks Canada. The social media promotion includes the participation of the company’s Yorkdale and Square One shopping malls in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as other malls nationally. The effort encourages consumers to submit a video or photograph of a plate. Oxford Properties will donate five dollars to Food Banks Canada for each post. The promotion is being supported with a video featuring a number of Canadian personalities, including Lemon, Rick Mercer, Nicole Power, Andrew Phuong, Dani Kind and Juno Rinaldi.

“Food banks around the country have been seriously impacted by the pandemic, having to manage with fewer volunteers while adapting their operations and serving new clients affected by crisis,” said Bradley Jones, head of retail at Oxford Properties. “Our shopping centres play important roles in their communities, and we will use this reach to mobilize the wider community to take action against increasing food insecurity accelerated by the pandemic. ‘Pass the Plate’ can inspire donations at a variety of levels as we partner with Food Banks Canada and work towards alleviating hunger.”
