Mazda conducts Mazda Day promotion in Quebec

Automaker Mazda Canada of Richmond Hill, ON recently conducted a Quebec promotion with in association with Quebecor Media Group morning television program Salut, Bonjour. On June 17, the show hosted a Facebook contest as part of an event called "Mazda Day." The winner received a 2016 Mazda3. As part of the show, musicians Travis Cormier, Geneviève Leclerc and Amélie Nault drove around Montreal in a Mazda3, singing songs and demonstrating the vehicle. Their performances were also streamed live on Facebook.

Advance promotion for the event included a 15-second television commercial featuring show host Gino Chouinard, as well as additional exposure on previous episodes of the show, social media posts, online advertising and newspaper ads. The promotion was developed by J. Walter Thompson of Montreal in association with Mindshare Canada.

"We're delighted with the results, both in terms of audience participation and the enthusiasm generated by this initiative, which registered 140,000 Facebook contest entries in less than three hours," said Donald Lizotte, executive vice-president of advertising sales and marketing at Quebecor Media. "When synergy happens between the client, the media agency and us, we can accomplish amazing things, and achieve amazing results."
