TSN installs studio in Sport Chek store

Sports equipment retail chain Sport Chek has begun a joint promotion with specialty television channel TSN. The television channel has installed a live broadcast studio in the Sport Chek store in Maple Leaf Square in Toronto. The installation is intended to allow consumers to experience live segments and broadcast interviews with athletes, sports personnel and industry experts while they shop. The studio will broadcast special editions and reports that will be use in programs including Sportscentre, Leafs Lunch, TSN Drive, Cabbie Presents and the pre- and post-game shows of Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs games.

"We are consistently evolving the way we interact with our customers and finding new ways to shift from a point of sale to a point of experience," said Frederick Lecoq, senior vice-president of marketing at FGL Sports. "Our strategic partnership with TSN allows us to give our customers a deeper immersion into a sports environment. There is no other retail store in this country where fans can get this authentic experience and we're excited to be the first to bring this to Canadians."

Sport Chek is a division of FGL Sports, which is a subsidiary of Canadian Tire. TSN is a division of Bell Media.
