Scotiabank, Cineplex launch Scene+
By Adnews Staff
Scotiabank and Cineplex have launched a modified version of their jointly-operated Scene loyalty program. Called Scene+, the new program is intended to provide additional benefits for members such as being able to receive and redeem points for travel, shopping and banking services. The companies have also debuted a new mobile application participants can use to track their points.
The companies have formed an agreement with travel company Expedia Group through which users will receive points for hotel stays and car rentals. User can also link their Scene+ account to a Rakuten.ca account to receive loyalty points for purchases at participating online retailers including Gap, Sephora, Indigo and Sport Chek. Members can also redeem points online at Apple and Best Buy, or for gift cards from approximately 60 national retailers. Members will also receive points for making purchases using one of eight eligible Scotiabank debit or credit cards.
“With more than 90% of Canadians enrolled in at least one loyalty reward program, and more than 10 million Scene members alone, we saw the enormous potential of bringing together the earning power and flexibility of our Scotia Rewards program with the member base and loyalty of the Scene program, "said Clinton Braganza, senior vice-president of customer loyalty and partnerships at Scotiabank. “This is just the beginning for Scene+. We have lots of exciting enhancements planned over the coming months for Scene+ and for customers, delivering a ton of value and flexibility, for their many needs or wherever their interests lie.”
