Tangerine hires PHD

Toronto-based bank Tangerine has retained PHD, also based in Toronto, has its media agency. The assignment includes all media planning and buying for the company. PHD won the account in a review process involving an unknown number of contenders. It will begin work for Tangerine in September.

"PHD has a proven track record of delivering strong results and aligns well with the Tangerine brand," said Andrew Zimakas, chief marketing officer at Tangerine. "We have aggressive growth plans in the coming years and feel confident that the team at PHD has the passion and expertise to help us achieve our strategic goals."

PHD is a subsidiary of Omnicom Media Group. Tangerine is a subsidiary of Scotiabank.
