Subway resumes Commit to Fit promotion
Toronto-based sandwich chain Subway Canada has begun a social media campaign called the "Commit to Fit Pledge." During the promotion, which will run until Oct. 31, visitors to the company's Facebook page can win prizes by pledging to improve their physical fitness and logging the changes they have made to their lifestyles. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 plus a $500 Subway card. Monthly prizes of $250 Subway cards will also take place through the campaign. The initiative will also be supported with Twitter posts that will suggest healthier lifestyle alternatives.
"The new and improved Commit to Fit pledge is the perfect opportunity to swap old habits and take a fresh approach to healthier living," said Kathleen Bell, director of national marketing at Subway Restaurants of Canada. "The pledge is the perfect way to kick-start your healthier, more active lifestyle, and it only takes a few minutes."
Public relations and social media for the campaign are being handled by Veritas Communications. The digital media was developed by MMB. Media buying was coordinated by Carat.
